A National level competition for Scheduled Castes Entrepreneurs with existing businesses

Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJE), Government of India (GOI) is the apex body working towards the development of Scheduled Castes population in the Country and IFCI Venture Capital Funds Limited (IFCI Venture) is the implementing agency of some of the initiatives taken by MoSJE.

To recognize the contribution of Scheduled Caste (SC) entrepreneurs in all spheres of the Country's economy and reward the outstanding performers for their remarkable achievements in the manufacturing, services and allied sectors across Micro, Small and Medium industries, IFCI Venture has instituted “DR. AMBEDKAR BUSINESS EXCELLENCE AWARDS”. These awards will be a celebration of contributions of those enterprises led by SC entrepreneurs who have contributed to the ‘Make in India’ initiative and are an inspiration to millions of other enterprises across the country.

2. BRIEF OF “DR. AMBEDKAR BUSINESS EXCELLENCE AWARDS”:

The Competition shall be conducted in 2 stages:

• Stage 1 - Screening Round: The Scheduled Caste Entrepreneurs, 18 years and above age, with established business of atleast 3 years of operations may apply for DR. AMBEDKAR Business Excellence Awards through the online registration. The online application form must be filled completely along with details of their businesses and a valid Scheduled Castes certificate. The applications shall be shortlisted by a distinguished Jury. The shortlisted applications shall proceed to Stage 2.

• Stage 2 - Finale Round: This round shall be conducted in major cities through online/ physical mode as per the Covid 19 pandemic protocol. The shortlisted applicants of Stage 1 would be required to present their business achievements before the selection panel/Jury in Stage 2. The winners of Stage 2 shall be declared as the winners of DR. AMBEDKAR Business Excellence awards.

• Mega Event - Winners across all categories shall be felicitated in a Mega Event to be organized in New Delhi.

• Opportunity for concessional finance under Venture Capital Fund for Scheduled Castes*

• Capacity building at premier institutes with focus on real-world issues
